The Hotpoint Model HTH17CBTWW is our second choice for a cheap refrigerator review.  This fridge is for people really looking for a low price refrigerator, but still want quality and a decent name.

At around 450$ the Hotpoint certainly fits the bill.  Overall storage space on this model is 16.6 square cubic feet, which is a a good deal less than the Maytag, but of course this fridge is also 180$ cheaper.  It all depends on your space needs-this is great just for a couple or a family of three, maybe four, but any bigger than that and you probably need a bigger fridge.

Feature wise the Hotpoint is fairly slim.  You do get gallon door storage and crisper drawers.  However the crisper doors are not humidity controlled.

This fridge is both UL listed safe, and Energy Star compliant.  These are great benefits for a low priced refrigerator.  Operating costs should be low given the energy efficiency rating.

There is no built in icemaker in this fridge.  The shelves are made of wire.  Temperature controls are analog and they are located in the front of the main refrigerator compartment.

So that's about it for features-what we're looking to see at this price point is a quality build and that the refrigerator does what its supposed to do.  Look below to see the user cited comments.
